The University of Chester’s Work Based Learning module offers level 5 students with the opportunity to undertake a five-week industry placement.
Not only does this provide a welcome addition to a CV but successful work experience will also help develop essential skills to enhance employability.
In the video below, BA Sports Journalism student James Messenger reflects on his five-week placement with Super League club Widnes Vikings.
James completed his Work Based Learning placement with the club’s media department where he undertook a variety of roles from videography and social media management to interviewing players.
“It was great testing myself in a new environment,” said James.
“Taking the skills learned at university into a real work place has been amazing. I couldn’t have asked for anything more.”
James put together this video urging all students to gain work experience to complement studies>>>
